Why so many students leave university
Recent data continues to highlight something many parents and educators already sense:
A significant number of students begin university… but don’t finish.
In Australia, while annual attrition rates may sit around 10-12%, the cumulative non-completion rate over time is closer to 25% with some contexts exceeding 30%.
That means around one in four students who start a degree will not complete it.
This isn’t a small issue. But it is also not as simple as it first appears.
Helping Young People Find Clarity Before Choosing Their Future
What often surprises participants is not what they learn about their future, but what they learn about themselves.
Many discover that characteristics they once viewed as weaknesses are simply aspects of their personality that need the right environment to flourish. Others gain confidence by recognising strengths they had previously overlooked.
The goal is not to tell young people what career they should pursue. Rather, it is to provide them with a stronger understanding of themselves so they can make informed decisions with greater confidence and self-awareness.
